Grace has a heart to make a difference for Jesus Christ in Ruston and beyond. We are honored to support five local ministry partners and four international missionary families. Donations are made to them each year through our Faith Promise Fund gifts. Grace looks forward to visits from our missionaries and local ministry partner representatives.
LOCAL MINISTRY PARTNERS
Christian Community Action (CCA) - Christian Community Action is a non-profit organization in Lincoln Parish that strives to meet the needs of the families in our parish in an emergency or crisis situation. In addition to monetary support, Grace collects grocery items such as flour, corn meal, and canned goods throughout the year for CCA’s food pantry.
Life Choices of North Central Louisiana - Life Choices provides a wide range of free or low-cost services such as pregnancy testing, STD testing, ultrasounds, and social service assistance or referrals to the women and men of Lincoln Parish. In addition to monetary support, Grace collects baby clothing, gear, and other items for Life Choices’ Hope Shoppe boutique.
Louisiana Adult & Teen Challenge - Louisiana Adult & Teen Challenge is a faith-based residential program dedicated to helping individuals overcome addiction and life-controlling issues. In addition to monetary support, Grace offers one of LAATC’s clothing donation drop boxes near the church entrance.
The Awakening Collegiate Fellowship (ACF) at Louisiana Tech – The ACF (formerly the Wesley Foundation) is a thriving ministry on Louisiana Tech University’s campus that exists to disciple college students. In addition to financial support, Grace looks for ways to support and interact with its students.
Methodist Children’s Home – The Methodist Children’s Home provides Louisiana's most comprehensive, intensive residential treatment for children; therapeutic foster care for children and support for foster families throughout Louisiana; life skills training; and the Outdoor Wilderness Learning (OWL) Center, which offers equine therapy and a place in nature to grow, learn, and heal. In addition to financial support, Grace supports the OWL Center by offering their delicious Screamin’ OWL™ Salsa for sale at the church. It is made with tomatoes grown at the facility’s horticulture program and is created, cooked, and canned by the staff and volunteers of the Methodist Children’s Home. All proceeds go directly back to the OWL Center.
INTERNATIONAL MISSIONARIES
Tim and Daina Datwyler – The Datwylers currently serve in Ecuador where they work with Door of Hope (Puerta de Esperanza), introducing people of all ages, cultures, and colors to the knowledge of the saving grace in the face of Jesus Christ, our living God.
Sammy and Mary Murimi – Sammy is the founder and director emeritus of Share International Inc., an organization born through the vision of Sammy and Mary, both Christians of Kenyan descent. Share works to spread the gospel to the Turkana people of Kenya, the Toposa of South Sudan, and the Nyang’atom of Ethiopia.
Joey and Patti Romero – Joey and Patti serve in Ghana, where they work to make disciples and plant churches.
Jason and Felicia Winkle – The Winkles live in Romania where they partner with Chosen Vessels to support missionaries and church leaders serving in ministry.
In addition to supporting these ministries, Grace offers missions projects throughout the year. Our Christmas in July project collects gifts for our ministry partners during the summer months when donations often decrease. Each fall, we collect and assemble shoe boxes for the Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child program. Grace also erects an angel tree during the holiday season to help support our ministry partners.
“The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”
Luke 10:2
