MISSIONS

​

Grace has a dedicated, active Missions Committee and group of members who participate in a number of programs each year, serve Grace's local ministry partners, support our international partners, and take mission trips when possible.

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD

Each fall, Grace members collect and assemble shoe boxes filled with items for children around the world. The boxes are then delivered to one of the Samaritan's Purse distribution centers. Grace members have also served at those distribution centers.

PLARN (PLASTIC YARN) MAT MINISTRY

A group of Grace members gets together to cut, roll, and weave plastic grocery bags into mats for the homeless and disadvantaged. These are distributed to our ministry partners and others who serve the homeless. Stop by Room 111 on Monday, Wednesday, or Friday mornings to see them in action, or to join them. And save your plastic bags and bring those to the church. 

CHRISTMAS ANGEL TREE

Each holiday season, a tree is put up near the church office entrance with tags of gift ideas for our ministry partners. These are collected and delivered prior to the Christmas holiday.

CHRISTMAS IN JULY

A tree is also put up in July to collect gifts for our ministry partners during the summer months when donations to these organizations often go down.

CCA COLLECTIONS

Grace collects grocery items such as flour, sugar, corn meal, and canned goods throughout the year for local ministry partner Christian Community Action.

OWL CENTER SALSA

The Outdoor Wilderness Learning (OWL) Center is a program of Louisiana United Methodist Children's and Family Services, Inc. The OWL Center staff makes delicious Screamin' OWL Salsa from tomatoes grown at the facility's horticulture program. You can buy yours at Grace, and all proceeds go directly back to the OWL Center.

Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms. 1 Peter 4:10

Grace members have taken trips to serve in many locations - Red Bird Missions in Kentucky, Ghana - and are always eager to plan future trips when there is an interest.
