WHAT WE BELIEVE
All of our beliefs are found in and derived from the Holy Bible. They can be found in the Apostle's Creed, the 25 Articles of Faith of John Wesley, and the Confession of Faith of the Evangelical United Brethren Church. They are summarized as follows:
We believe in one God who eternally exists in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
We believe in the Holy Bible, which is revealed in the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments. The Bible is regarded as authoritative, infallible, and inspired by the Holy Spirit.
We believe humanity has been separated from God by sin and this has affected all of humankind.
Redemption and forgiveness of sin is found totally and exclusively in the grace of God through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
The Church is God's universal body that exists as God's community of believers under the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
Everyone will stand under the righteous judgement of Christ, both now and in the last day. All believers will spend eternity with God and the wicked will be sent to eternal condemnation.
We believe in two sacraments, Baptism and Communion.
Baptism in water represents God washing away our sins through Jesus Christ. This can be celebrated by sprinkling, pouring, and immersion.
Communion is celebrated with wine or juice, and bread. This represents the sacrifice that Christ has made for us with his body and blood. All who desire a relationship with Christ are invited to participate.
We believe marriage is a sacred institution created by God at the beginning of time. This is to be celebrated within the church as a union between a man and a woman. Sexual relations are reserved for a monogamous marriage relationship between a husband and a wife.
